Visual Patterns is an amazing resource developed by a middle school teacher in Southern California named Fawn Nguyen. It has the first three figures of over 200 different visual patterns. For further ideas on how to use them with students beyond the Framework, check out the Visual Patterns review on CollectEdNY. Also, read this Fawn Nguyen post on a super engaging first day of class activity using visual patterns.
Fawn also created an Equations Key to Visual Patterns. It gives the equations for all of the visual patterns from the above resource. It also color codes them so you can easily see which are linear, which are quadratic and which are other (cubic, exponential, etc), which is super helpful if you are trying to plan out a sequence of patterns to use with students.
