Three-Dimensional Geometry (Part 1) is available at the links above. Part 2 is available here.
In this packet, students will explore concepts in three-dimensional geometry and measurement.
Part 1 explores the following topics:
- Types of solids (three-dimensional objects)
- Measuring the surface area of solids
- Measuring the volume of solids
- Geometric formulas
Part 2 builds off of Part 1, exploring volume in a science context, through a study of the density of matter.
Recommended Prerequisites: Before working on this packet, students should complete the Fast Track GRASP Math Packet, Two-Dimensional Geometry, Part 1 and Two-Dimensional Geometry, Part 2 or have a firm understanding of the area concepts explored in those packets.
The Fast Track GRASP Math Packets are made available for teachers who work with students in distance learning, Fast Track Math classes, and traditional ABE/HSE classes. Click here for more information about other Math Packets
If you are teaching with the packet, we recommend breaking it up into smaller pieces. We created a step by step guide for folks who are not sure how to break a PDF file into smaller chunks: Breaking Up is (not) Hard to Do.
If you use these materials with your students, please give us feedback on the experience (teacher survey, student survey). Your feedback on the packets will help us improve the materials, and support our students’ success.
Thank you!
