This two-lesson set for HSE students targets high-emphasis topics for the Social Studies linked to the article on Technology in the Workplace that is included in Career Fundamentals as well as each sector-based Kit.  Students read and summarize Newsela articles on supply and demand, industrialization, globalization and global warming, then present what they’ve learned to the rest of the class.  Reading comprehension from the Newsela articles closely resemble TABE and GED reading comprehension questions, so students are getting two for the price of one!
